Liberty Tree Dedication Ceremony at Pendery Sports Park

Judge/Executive Steve Pendery joined community members at Pendery Sports Park for a special Liberty Tree Dedication Ceremony.

The event was hosted by the Mary Ingles Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The Daughters of the American Revolution is a service organization for women whose ancestors helped win American independence. The group works to preserve our nation's history and promote education and patriotism in communities across the country.

A Kentucky Tulip Poplar, our official state tree, was planted and dedicated as a Liberty Tree. During the American Revolution, Liberty Trees were gathering places where colonists met to share ideas about freedom and stand together. Today, they remain a powerful symbol of unity and the spirit of independence that built our nation.

Commissioners Brian Painter and Tom Lampe joined Judge/Executive Pendery at the ceremony. Campbell County Sheriff Mike Jansen also attended, along with Vice-Chief Regional District Judge Erin Matthews Sizemore of the 17th Judicial District Court, and State Representative Matthew Lehman of District 67.

Thank you to the Mary Ingles Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for honoring this proud piece of history right here in Campbell County. We are grateful to everyone who came out to share in this meaningful tribute.
